Reuse

Another way of being sustainable is to Reuse items you have. Reusing old materials, they don't go to landfills but they are reused for another purpose. 

Below, I have created an idea to try for each month. Even just doing one of the ideas below goes a long way in doing our part to save the environment plus you create new things and have fun doing them! And these ideas are easy for all ages. As Greta Thornburg said, "You are never too small to make a difference."

January

Repurpose holiday or other greeting cards received into new cards or gift tags.

February 

Flowers received can be pressed and then used in to make really cool arts and crafts projects. 

March

Spring clean your closet. Donate gently used clothes. Repurpose any tshirts that are not fit to be worn into shopping bags.

April

Cardboard egg cartons can be reused as seed starting trays. 

May

Use chipped cups, teapots, large cans as plant pots.

June

Remove labels from glass jars to use as food storage.

July

Reuse cardboard boxes into storage bins or cereal boxes into organizers.

August

Get ready for school by reusing old tin cans into pencil/ pen holders. 

September

Drop a book that you have read over summer at a neighborhood free little library for someone else to read.

October

Turn old socks into dog toys.

November

Use old medicine boxes into storage containers. 

December

Save gift bags and give them new life or newspaper or packing paper into wrapping paper.
