Recycle

One part of being sustainable is to maintain ecological health. One of the best ways to keep the environment healthy is to know what material goes into what bin. In New York City, there are 4 bins, Compost, Trash, Mixed Paper and Cardboard Recycling and Metal, Rigid Plastic, Glass and Cartons Recycling. Below is a list to guide you based on guidelines from the New York City Department of Sanitation. 

Compost 

• Food Scrap such as Banana Peels, Egg shells, Ground Coffee, Meat, Bones

• Prepared and Cooked food  

• Leaf and Yard waste

• Greasy uncoated paper plates and pizza boxes

Mixed Paper and Cardboard Recycling

Metal, Glass, Rigid Plastic, Cartons Recycling

Everything else such as:
